Home maintenance is an important part of owning your own home and preserving your investment. Here's a checklist every homeowner should remember.

Summer is the perfect time to evaluate your home and make sure it’s in top shape. Here are a few suggestions for this time of year.

Maintain your yard by mowing as often as necessary and trimming your shrubs.
Now it a great time to clean or power-wash the exterior of your home.
If you have a deck, summer is perfect for cleaning. Decks can be washed with a bleach/water solution then sealed to keep them looking new.
Look at the exterior of your home to be sure there are not signs of leaking water or insect damage that could cause costly damage later.
Remember to close your fireplace damper when not in use. An open damper can raise your electrical bills.
